  • Senso-ji Temple, located in Taito District, Tokyo, Japan, was founded in the 36th year of the reign of Emperor Suiko (628 AD). According to legend, it was built after fishermen salvaged a golden statue of Guanyin from the Sumida River. It is the oldest existing Buddhist temple in Tokyo. The main buildings of the temple are in the Edo style, including the Fudo-jinmon Gate, the Gojo-ta (the second tallest Buddhist pagoda in Japan), and the Hongan-do Hall.
